Building and Extending Boat Ramps

LBCC recognizes the need for more and continual access to Lake Buchanan. We partnered with Burnet County to extend the current ramp at Burnet County Park on the East side of the lake. LBCC offered the county to pay for the materials for the extension. Burnet County agreed to donate the labor and in partnership we extended the concrete by 60 feet, which has allowed boaters easier access to that northeast area of the lake. LBCC also initiated building a new ramp on the northwest side of the lake not only for recreational boaters but also addressing the need for emergency services access to that area. LBCC directors requested and received cooperation with LCRA and Llano county to achieve this project. LCRA donated the land for the ramp, Llano County supplied the labor, and LBCC supplied the funds to build this 120 foot concrete ramp. One of the considerations to this ramp is that when the lake is full, the ramp will not be useable as it will be totally underwater. As the lake is down more than full, LBCC and partners felt it was worth the efforts and expenditure to move forward on this and today we have a nice concrete ramp that is useable here in June 2015.
