February 3, 2010 ENCROACHMENT ISSUES TO BE DISCUSSED AT NEXT LBCC MEETING Staff from LCRA’s Real Estate Services Department will be speaking at the next meeting of the Lake Buchanan Conservation Corp. Kelly Wells, Real Estate Services Supervisor, along with Melvin Noack and Ben Hayes, Senior Real Estate Representatives, will discuss resolving encroachment issues along the Highland Lakes. This group manages the leasing program, is responsible for the sale of LCRA’s nonessential lands, and oversees land acquisition for park projects and some of LCRA’s infrastructure projects. They also respond to many inquiries from the public about LCRA’s lands and rights of way. A significant number of Buchanan waterfront residences are affected by the encroachment issue. LCRA says it will be using a new method to determine values of the encroached land which property owners will be buying from them. The method will be described at the meeting. You do not have to be a member of LBCC to attend this presentation. Everyone is welcome. The meeting will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 16th at the LCRA building located on RR 1431 just south of Hwy 29 in Buchanan Dam. The LBCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the Lake Buchanan area. They meet regularly on the third Tuesday of every month. Check out their website at www.lakebuchananCC.org.
