The meeting, held at the LCRA Building on Hwy. 1431, was called to order at 6:00 pm by President George Bold.

The Minutes from the Board meeting April 22, 2008, were read and approved.

The Treasurer’s Report was read and approved.  

The Board discussed our upcoming  Casino Night and Fish Fry fundraisers.  They discussed the need for help in getting door prizes for both events as well as donations of cash for boxes of fish. Ron and Jerry agreed to pay for one box each and Ken signed up for two. We will get the fish through Gary Lock who can get a good price on the brand of catfish we have been using for the past two fish fry’s.

The Board discussed selling ads on our Fish Identifier Flyers to help cover the cost of printing and display cases. George made up sales packages for this purpose. To date, three ads are committed. Larry informed the board that eight boxes are currently in use around the lake with four more to be put up.  

The Board discussed the 2008 Hybrid Striper Restocking Project.   The fish (107,000, ¾ inch long) were released into the lake on May 8 by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept. There was discussion of the small size of the fish due to the fact that they were only in the hatchery one month. George is discussing the specifics of the contract with Burnet County Commissioner, Bill Neve and Hatchery manager Marc Jackson. Larry Boyd also expressed concerns about possible damage to the fish during the release process. George will address this with Steve Magnelia with the TP&W Dept. Also discussed were possible changes for next year.
The fish survey forms were shown to the board and Jerry Moore took 1000 for Thunderbird Resort and Ken Milam took 1000 to distribute to lodges in Tow. On May 21, George delivered approx. 1300 to Gwen Carpenter for her lodge and others in the vicinity of Willow Point.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 pm by President George Bold.

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

May 20, 2008

 The meeting was called to order at 7:02pm.

There were 27 people who signed in. Estimated attendance was 38.

The Minutes from the April 22, 2008, meeting were read and approved

The Treasurer’s Report was reviewed and approved

 An update on the Hybrid Striper Restocking Project   was given by George Bold, who stated that 107,000 fish were released into the lake. 

The Survey Cards for Burnet Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant were distributed. 

Members were given the opportunity to donate cash for boxes of fish for our Fish Fry fundraiser. Donations for two boxes were committed.

George announced that we have advertising packages available for those who wish to advertise on our Fish Identifier Flyers. Several were handed out.

Stan Rountree of the LCRA presented a very interesting program on Residential Docks on the lakes.
