This is a very concise synopsis of the information provided from the last meeting.

Lake Buchanan Conservation Corporation
BOARD MEETING
March 18, 2008

The meeting, held at the LCRA Building on Hwy. 1431, was called to order at 6:03 pm by President George Bold.

The Minutes from the Board meeting February 19, 2008 were read and approved.

The Treasurer’s Report was read and approved.  After discussion, a motion was made by Ron Abshier and seconded my Alan Jankowski to drop members who have not renewed by May 1.  All were in favor.

Jerry Moore made a motion to authorize only one signature on checks under $100.  The motion was seconded by Ken Milam.  All were in favor.

 The Board discussed the 2008 Habitat Improvement Project.  There was an article about the project in the Burnet Bulletin.  There was discussion on repeating the project in the fall.

A motion was made by Alan Jankowski and seconded by Ron Abshier to reimburse Larry Boyd $100 for gasoline for his boat.  All were in favor.

The Iraq veteran fishing trip project was discussed.

Regarding Casino Night, the Board discussed the purchase of Blackjack tables which should be arriving soon.

The Board discussed the lodging survey forms for the Hybrid Striper Restocking Project. 

New Business:

Our Fish Identifier Flyers are moving well.  Alan Jankowski made a motion to add 12 more locations, and therefore, 12 more plastic display boxes for the flyers.  The motion was seconded by Gwen Carpenter.  All were in favor.

 The Board discussed considered Reimbursement for members who offer services to active duty military members.  The Board concluded that this request is not in keeping with our mission and was, therefore, denied.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:47 pm by President George Bold.

The next Board meeting will be held at 6 pm on April 15, 2008, at the LCRABuilding on Hwy 1431

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

March 18, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 7:07 pm.

There were 29 people who signed in.

The Minutes from the February 19, 2008, meeting were read and approved

The Treasurer’s Report was reviewed and approved

The Habitat Improvement Project was reviewed.   Members were informed of the article about the project that was in the Burnet Bulletin.                                              

George Bold gave an update on the Hybrid Striper Restocking Project.  We will buy 700,000 fry and put 500,000 of them into the lake.  200,000 fry will be placed in the hatchery.   

The annual Fish Fry was discussed. This event will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2008, at the Hill Country Hall in Buchanan Dam.

Plans for Casino Night were presented. 

New Business:
            None

A “Quiz the Guides” Program was presented featuring fishing guides:
Jerry Moore, Larry Boyd, Ken Milam, Fermin Fernandez, Jim Crawford, David DeVeau, Ray Williamson, Clancy Terrill, and Rick Szukalla.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:07 pm
