The Minutes from the Board meeting May 20, 2008, were read and approved.

The Treasurer’s Report was read and approved.   A motion was made by Larry Boyd and seconded by Alan Jankowski to change our policy with the Llano National Bank to require only one signature on all LBCC checks.  Our internal, corporation policy will require only one signature on checks under $100 and two signatures on checks over $100.  All were in favor.

The Board discussed the lodge survey cards.  The cards have been well received at the participating lodges.  The first batch of complete surveys will be picked up in mid July.

Plans for Casino Night were discussed.  The date is July 12, 2008.  The flyers are done and were handed out for Board members to distribute.  We are still seeking donations, prizes, table sponsors and silent auction items.

The Board discussed our Fish Identifier Flyers.  We currently have 13 boxes at locations on both sides of Lake Buchanan.  Larry Boyd restocks the boxes with flyers about twice a month as many of the boxes are empty or near empty.  Ron Abshier made a motion to reimburse Larry for gasoline, making a first time payment of $50   and then $40 a trip.  The motion was seconded by Alan Jankowski.  All were in favor.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:37 pm by President George Bold.

The next Board meeting will be held at 6 pm on July 15, 2008, at the LCRABuilding on Hwy 1431

An update was given on the Survey Cards for Burnet Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant.  The cards have been well received at the participating lodges.  The first batch of complete surveys will be picked up in mid July.

Commissioner Henry Parker presented an update on the progress of the Llano County Boat Ramp.  $500,000 in grant money was received, $166,000 of which are matching funds.  This would bring the total funding for the project to $666,000.  The engineering plans will be completed in about 2 weeks, after which bids will be sought.  The Park and the ramp will be closed during the construction phase, which could be as early as August, 2008.

George Bold gave an update on the advertisements on the back of our Fish Identifier Flyer.    To date, 4 ads have been sold and there are 6 more ad spots available.  Cost for each ad is $150/year.

Ryan Rowney, from the LCRA, presented a very interesting program on the dams in the Highland Lakes chain.  He reported that work on the flood gates of Buchanan Dam will begin in the next several weeks.  This will be a $38 million dollar renovation and will be completed in 5-7 years.  He suggested that the cost of the project will impact LCRA water rates in the very near future.  He also discussed water releases for the second crop of rice farmers downriver, the lack of rain and the expected fall in lake water levels, a $13 million dollar project to replace turbines and the intake tower on Buchanan Dam and the $24 million dollar project to replace turbines at Starcke Dam.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:28 pm
