The meeting, held at the LCRA Building on Hwy. 1431, was called to order at 6:10 pm by President George Bold.

The Minutes from the Board meeting June 17, 2008, were read and approved.

The Treasurer’s Report was read and approved

The Board discussed our Fish Identifier Flyers.   There is currently room for 4 more ads.  The flyers are being widely distributed on both sides of Lake Buchanan.

The renewal of the LBCC ad in the Lakes and Hills publication was discussed.  Larry Boyd made a motion to discontinue the ad; the motion was seconded by Ron Abshier.  All were in favor.

The Fish Fry fund raiser was discussed and assignments were made for the purchase of food, beverages, advertising, ticket sales and prizes.

The Board discussed having an automated phone call to all members to announce monthly meetings and special events to our members.  More information on the service will be gathered before a decision can be made.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:54 pm by President George Bold.

The next Board meeting will be held at 6 pm on August 19, 2008, at the LCRABuilding on Hwy 1431

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

July 15, 2008

 The meeting was called to order at 7:08m.

There were 23 people who signed in.

The Minutes from the June 20, 2008, meeting were read and approved

The Treasurer’s Report was reviewed and approved

George Bold reported on the Casino Night fund raiser.  A total of $4,261 was taken in before expenses, with a projected income of about $3600.  We plan to repeat the event, coordinating the date with the Chamber’s Las Vegas Night and also choose a date in cooler weather.
 
George Bold gave an update on the advertisements on the back of our Fish Identifier Flyer.    There are still 4 ad spaces available.

Plans for the upcoming Fish Fry were discussed.  The Fish Fry will be held on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend at the Hill Country Hall.

The program was presented by Marcos de Jesus, a biologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife.  He presented a very interesting program on fish surveys, lake management, stocking programs and their success, “new lake effect” phenomenon,  and  fish populations, counts and growth rates.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:08 pm
