2007 Fish Restocking
effort:
Striper Association Meeting Joe Pool Lake
in Dallas. Washitah, Arkansas to catch brood fish for Keo Fish Farms
Approval for $1500 purchase of hybrid striper fry from Keo Fish Farms
Lake Access Improvement:
Henry Parker - Contract with LCRA to engineer
design of boat ramps. Burnet County has approved plans.
Inter local agreement approval in progress. Next step will be the construction
plans. Optimistic
Fund Raisers:
A Gambling Fund Raiser held by Bluffton
Store contacted Henry and will donate half the profits with Tow Community
Center and LBCC, More details to come

Program –
Salt Cedar
Rusty Ray and Ted Riley from LCRA discussed
the efforts to address the Salt Cedar issues.
Salt Cedar is not a native and does not have a natural enemy. Heavy
water consumption and salt producer which sterilizes ground.
Mature plant produces 500k seeds. Grows up to 14' per year. To kill
it by water, it needs to stay underwater for 120 days.
Self planting. Lake Ivy is inundated. Plants were brought in to help
with erosion.
Efforts to start controlling the headwaters of the water shed. LCRA
found out about it in 2001
2003 LCRA asked for $75k but did not get grant. LCRA funded themselves
an air survey of the upper watershed
Education campaign. Funding difficult. State Task formed.
Govt cannot treat private property.
Treatment consist of mechanical, chemical and natural
