Question: What are the benefits to me for joining the LBCC?

Answer: For an individual, the restocking and habitat improvement have improved the fishing on the lake. Our support to the County Parks will benefit people of all ages who use the parks. For businesses, lodge owners and fishing guides, they benefit directly with more people coming to fish. For others, an influx of people to fish the lake, results in more sales of fuel, meals, snacks, etc. and more boat sales and repair business. Our purchase and installation of Certified Scales will benefit all fishermen, especially when they catch ‘The Big One’.

Question: What is the LBCC doing for the Largemouth Bass and Crappie fisherman?

Answer: Our habitat improvement ( placement of secured bundles of cedar trees )directly benefits Largemouth Bass, Crappie and other species that need structure in the lake to thrive. We also requested TPWD to restock Largemouth Bass in the lake and they did so by adding more than 500,000 Florida Largemouth fingerlings in 2008.

Question: What is the LBCC doing for the Catfish angler?

Answer: In 2007 the LBCC restocked the lake with 10,000 Channel Catfish fingerlings.

Question: Why should I attend monthly LBCC meetings?

Answer: 1. To get the latest information on our activities. 2. Be informed on a variety of subjects of interest to lake residents and visitors alike. (See the ‘Meetings’ web page to view a list of our programs for the past year.)

Question: Why stock the lake with Hybrid Striped Bass?

Answer:  The LBCC’s stocking of Hybrids in the lake is part of TPWD’s management plan for Lake Buchanan. With the Stripers being inactive during warm weather, the Hybrids are more likely to be active all year long similar to White Bass. This will provide for more year-round Striper fishing in the lake.

Question: Is the LBCC part of the LCRA?

Answer: No, the LBCC is a completely independent organization, not affiliated with anyone.
